Cashless parking report: Executive Member for Economy and Transport, Cllr Pete Kilbane said:
“It’s right that we save costs wherever possible using technology and cashless parking is one such example. But the consultation has highlighted that some still need the cash option to park so I’m pleased to say we’ve listened and made a change through this decision. Two central car parks will retain cash payment ensuring we cater for everyone’s needs”.
Acomb Front Street: Executive Member for Economy and Transport, Cllr Pete Kilbane said:
“This is a costly decision to put right after the mess inflicted on Acomb Front Street by the old Liberal Democrat administration. We’ve listened to local residents and have developed ideas to deliver public realm improvements that residents and businesses want to see. We’re keen to hear from them through further consultation on these proposals. And where possible, we’ll also aim to reuse bollards removed so the costs in Acomb contribute to reduced costs in other parts of the city”.
