Anne Kerr
Candidate for Fulford and Heslington

Anne Kerr moved with her family from Scotland to York in 2000 to work as a lecturer at the University. She now works as a Professor of Sociology at the University of Leeds. Anne is married with five children.
Anne rejoined the Labour Party in 2016 to fight a more equal society. She has volunteered with a range of community groups in York, including as a founding trustee and chair of a local out of school club.
“I want to put my knowledge about how society works to good use, by being a local councillor. York is a beautiful city but too many people are struggling with low pay, a lack of affordable housing and inadequate public transport. We need a Labour Council to build wealth for everyone. I will work for all of the residents of Fulford and Heslington to improve our communities.”
