York Young Labour
About Us
York Young Labour is the youth wing of the Labour Party in York. We campaign, hold socials, debates, speaker events and trips.
We are an open, independently minded group, who believe in campaigning to create a more equal, socially just and democratic society.
We encourage anyone who is a Labour supporter and is under the age of 27 to come along and voice their opinions on national and local issues and have their say in what the group does.
We're not afraid to say when we disagree with the policies of the national party or government. We go around the formal structures of the main party in favour of a more casual, sociable approach.
We have no membership charges – all you have to do is be a member of the Labour Party, which with the new youth rate is now only £1.
We hope that whatever you're interested in, we have something going on that you would want to be involved in.

- Joint social with York University Labour Club and York Labour Councillors at 8.00pm on Monday 19th May in the Golden Ball.
- Former Health Secretary Frank Dobson MP speaks to us at York University on Tuesday 28th May, 12:30pm.
June
- Campaign day for York Outer Labour candidate James Alexander on Saturday 7th June.
- Health Secretary Alan Johnson MP speaks to us at York St. John University at 2.30 on Friday 13th June.
- Social with Selby MP John Grogan.
- Trip to the UK Parliament at Westminster.
July
- Debate: 'How do we win back the Labour vote?'
