York Young Labour
About Us
York Young Labour is the youth wing of the Labour Party in York. We campaign, hold socials, debates, speaker events and trips.
We are an open, independently minded group, who believe in campaigning to create a more equal, socially just and democratic society.
We encourage anyone who is a Labour supporter and is under the age of 27 to come along and voice their opinions on national and local issues and have their say in what the group does.
We're not afraid to say when we disagree with the policies of the national party or government. We go around the formal structures of the main party in favour of a more casual, sociable approach.
We have no membership charges ? all you have to do is be a member of the Labour Party, which with the new youth rate is now only £1.
We hope that whatever you're interested in, we have something going on that you would want to be involved in.
On going Campaigns and Programmes
- Election campaigning for York Central MP Hugh Bayley, York Outer candidate James Alexander and the York Labour Councillors.
- Work experience programmes with: Hugh Bayley MP, John Grogan MP and the York Labour Councillors.
- York Young Labour Training Programme.
