I have lived in York for the past 26 years having previously lived in London, South Wales and Gloucestershire. I have been a member of the Labour Party for the past 15+ years. I am also a member of Amnesty International. I have been (and remain) married for the past 30 years and we have two grown up children.
Politically, I consider that one of central and local government's principle aim is to look after the least advantaged and to minimise the gulf between rich and poor. I want to galvanise the young to take an active interest in politics (especially local politics) otherwise they become increasingly irrelevant in the age of the blue and yellow coalition.
