I have been a York resident for over 30 years having previously lived in the West Midlands, South Wales & London. I have been a member of the Labour Party for over 20 years and am also currently a member of Amnesty International and The Ramblers Association. I am married with two adult children.
Since being elected as a Ward Councillor 3 years ago, I feel passionately that after 4 years of the Con-Dem Coalition the people of York and the country are in desperate need for a strong Labour government in order to reduce the gulf between the 'haves' and the 'have-nots'. Only by making hard decisions to facilitate basic needs for the least able to cope in society such as quality housing, a living wage / income and a Health Service free at the point turn of delivery can Britain become a truly egalitarian and happy country.
