- I was first elected as a councillor in 2003, and since then have undertaken the roles of both Children and Young People’s Champion (until 2008) and Labour Group Leader since 2007.
- I worked with MP Hugh Bayley and the local paper on a national campaign to ensure that people who abduct children are put on the sexual offenders’ register.
- I campaigned against the closure of the footpath through St Peters School Ground and with my fellow councillors, ran an extensive alleygate campaign for Clifton.
- I have sat on a number of committees including the Audit and Governance Committee, the Social Inclusion Working Group, the Learning and Culture Committee and the Leisure Committee.
- I previously carried out the ceremonial role of Under Sheriff when Councillor Janet Looker was Lord Mayor.
- During my spare time I enjoy walking and spending time with my family, including visiting theme parks with my wife and son.
