- David has represented Acomb Ward since 1986, and served the city as Lord Mayor in 2002/3.
- He has been Chair of the Housing Committee and the West Area Planning and Transport Committees.
- He currently sits on a number of committees, including as Chair of one of the council’s planning committees.
