The Women’s Officer is a member of the York Labour Party Executive representing all women members

The current Women’s Officer is Alison Hume. Her main aims are to:

• Encourage, support and increase the involvement of women members
• Increase engagement with women voters in the constituency
• Work to ensure that policy development is properly informed by gender equality issues

And the Women’s Forum

• Arranges events and activities to promote the aims above
• Is for all women members of the CLP – all are automatically Women’s Forum members
• Has two delegates to the GM who can propose motions to EC/GM and vote
